Extreme cold creates a substantial risk for frozen or burst pipes. Rely on BP Wastewater Services of Vermont to help you minimize the risk of freezing pipes and prevent damage and expensive repairs.

Take the following steps to help reduce the risk of pipes that have the potential to freeze:

• Open cabinet doors under sinks and storage areas to allow heat from the room to circulate around uninsulated pipes.
• Allow a trickle of hot and cold water to drip overnight, but be careful not to run the water into a drain line that’s exposed to the cold as it could freeze that line.
• Make sure the building’s heat is turned on and set no lower than 55° F
